Your past selves deserve rest.
It is not an act of betrayal to lay your past selves to rest.
It is a form of honoring and love to memorialize the past versions of you that served a purpose during times of strife, uncertainty, and survival.
Your hurts, losses, grief, mistakes, and traumas all deserve the light of acknowledgment, the breath of healing, the transformation of accountability, and the freedom of release.
Shadow work calls us to meet ourselves wholeheartedly, without judgment or dismissal. The parts that we may want to avoid may actually be our greatest teachers, helping us evolve and develop deeper self-awareness.
Once we recognize the maladaptive behaviors, defenses, and patterns that may be fueling the cycle of pain, self-betrayal, and damage we reside in, we must release the old ways to create an opening for self-evolution.
It is not about silencing or covering up those shadows within.
It is more about shedding light on your shadows, embracing them with compassion and understanding, and allowing them to rest.
It is not self-abandonment.
It is the meeting of self, and in turn, you have the room to expand, to become more aligned, and to no longer feel the unresolved eating away at you.
It is not an easy process, but the transformation that occurs is magnificent.
Sending strength, courage, and love to all those who are doing shadow work, trauma healing, and are in the midst of their spiritual awakening. It may feel lonely at times, but you are never truly alone. God the Divine, your angels, your spirit guides, and your ancestors are with you and are so proud of you.
